Speaking of new technologies Steve, will the toolkit run on Windows 10 !?! :BigGrin:

So far for me it's been hanging about 90% done...

Of course I can't get GFWL to run and download my content either...

Otherwise... I'm loving Windows 10 currently. :)

Today I booted up my PC and immediately the Toolkit installer launched automatically.  This time it did complete the install.  Now to just get my Flight DLC (I did try from my wife's Win 7 box with the same results, so maybe it's MSFT?)

Happy to be your guinnea pig. :BigGrin:

Flight itself seems to work great as well.  I haven't been able to get any of my DLC yet, but the base game ran fine.  (I did only fly via mouse & keyboard, so haven't seen if there is a USB issue like with Win 8.)

Need a little help.

I went into Programs and uninstalled (FlightToolkit_1_0_12_0), I then I installed (FlightToolkit_1_0_18_5), and with it installed, when I try to run Flight I get this message. Titled: “Flight.exe - System Error”, message: “The program can’t start because d3dx10_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.” When I remove (FlightToolkit_1_0_18_5), Flight will run. If I reinstall (FlightToolkit_1_0_12_0), flight will run, but not with (FlightToolkit_1_0_18_5). Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

:unsure:

@jpc55

Same here Jack.  Except I'm sure I had Flight running at least once under 1.0.18.x.  But after that, Flight would not even load.  I uninstalled 1.0.18.x and then reinstalled 1.0.12.x.  Flight fired up and ran OK. Only I had XP=1, Achievements=0, Aerocaches=0.  I have my profile backed up so I should be OK when 1.0.18.x is fixed.

I tried installing that, but it asks me where I want it installed? No default location suggested. Do you know where it should go?

BTW: Flight runs the same whether I have Addon Mgr turned on or not. It tries to connect, then gives up and puts me into Flight like a 1st time user. Except my hangar has the same planes, and I have Alaska. I guess I could start all over from here?

Yeah... If you are using 1.0.12 it is using the GFWL version of Flight.  Backing up the profile requires being connected to the flight servers, which were taken down forever by MS, so basically you can't backup your profile any more.  There is no reason to use 1.0.12 anymore unless you still want to use multiplayer.  The 1.0.12 will never connect to my servers and will never show any aerocaches any more.

Thanks stonelance, I applied your #117 The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime and it fixed the problem I was having. Flight now runs with “FlightToolkit_1_0_18_5”, but with no multiplayer. Being I use multiplayer, I have uninstalled “FlightToolkit_1_0_18_5”, and reinstalled FlightToolkit_1_0_12_0. Will multiplayer become useable with“FlightToolkit_1_0_18_5” sometime in the future?

Again, much thanks to stonelance and to everyone else for their input on my problem, and all my best to you and yours!

Sincerely  J.R. :BigGrin:  :excl:
