Hy everyone. I recently find out that in order to achieve the best results in terms of how smooth the simulator is I have to install some external fps limiter. This is especially when using Radeon graphic card. So I installed the app, configured fps limit externaly to 30 fps, than in the sim itself configured internal fps limiter to unlimited. When I start flight it simply want apply that 30 fps limit instead it runs freely varying considerably depending on the aircraft I fly. My question is why is this happening and does I missed something in the configuration and installation process? Regards Marko Lisica

Hi guys! I've bought and installed FSX in my computer in 2013 when my computer is still using Windows 8. Since then, the OS was upgraded to 8.1 and recently to Windows 10. However, FSX kept on crashing throughout these 2 years. Around 30 minutes after opening it, FSX suddenly does not respond and crashed. Below are my computer's specs: Computer Model: HP Pavilion 23 All-in-one PC Processor: Intel Core i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30 GHz Quad Core RAM: 8GB Graphics: NVIDEA GeForce 610 Disk Drive: Hitachi HDS721010CLA630 It's useless to buy a better processor because the processor in an all-in-one PC cannot be changed... Can I run FSX on my computer smoothly or shall I just by a better computer? Thank you for your generous help!

Hi all I recently made a clean install of Windows 10 on a new hard disc, and all is fine - with one exception: everytime I start FSX I now get the following error message: 'The FS2AUDIO.DLL Failed to load with Error Code 0x7e. Be sure the FSAUDIO.DLL is in the \Windows\System32 folder, then restart the application.' The problem is that this file doesn't exist anywhere in my system, and never has. In Win7 all was fine, despite it having no FS2AUDIO.dll either. (I still have my old Win7 hard disc with all programs, and made a search). I have tried the following, without success: 1. Searched the net for a possible solution, found nothing that helped. 2. Copied a FS2AUDIO.DLL from an old b-737 download, however this file is completely ignored by RAASPRO. (Also copied it to SysWOW64) 3. Made a repair of the Acceleration installation. 4. Uninstalled and reinstalled the PMDG 777. (Version 1.10.6492) 5. Rebuilt the Fsx.cfg. So what have I overlooked? Best regards Bo T.

[sOLVED] Mistakenly moved the Prepar3d folder to a different folder after the installation completed. Using the Repair function in the P3D installer, it put key files to the original folder, which was the issue. I moved back all my files to the original folder, and the PMDG installer now detects P3D. Hey guys, I have windows 10 on my computer, with several SSDS for programs and games. I have my OS on SSD #1, P3D on SSD #2. When windows 10 first came out, there were issues with using their "upgrade" program, so I elected to do a fresh install of Windows 10 instead. Well it turns out the OS will not activate because it didn't first go through the upgrade. I also tried to play P3D, however it was broken since I believe it stores a few essential files on the SSD that has the OS on it. Fine, I uninstall all of my flight sim products and even P3D. I do a quick install of Windows 8, and use the Windows 10 upgrade to get my OS activated. Here I am with Windows 10, and now a fresh install of P3D sitting on SSD 2, and practically a fresh install of Windows 10 on SSD 1. I install of my flight sim products: FSDT airports, REX, ORBX, ASN, Aerosoft Airbus, etc. They all install perfectly. However, the PMDG 737 for P3D installer says it can not find Prepar3d.exe when I open the installer. I have tried running the installer as Admin, and in compatibility mode as well. So, I'm not exactly sure if this is an issue with the installer on Windows 10, or something on my computer side. I've heard people say PMDG aircraft work on Windows 10, but they installed it on Windows 7 or 8, then upgraded to Windows 10, so naturally you'd assume it would work. In my case, its the installer that is having issues finding P3D. Any help would be appreciated. Again, this is a fresh install of P3D 2.5 Version 12946.

Hi, I’m new to this forum. I’m not a native English speaker, but I could need some help with my FSX setup on Windows 10 I flew FSX for some time on Windows 7 with no problems. Now I moved to new machine with Windows 10, and that’s where the problem starts. In general, I’m using two screens with a native resolution of 1920x1200 and 1280x1024. I would like to start on the larger screen and move some other windows to the smaller one. In FSX I configured the resolution to 1920x1200x32. My fsx.cfg contains the following two lines: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970.0.0] Mode=1920x1200x32 [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970.0.1] Mode=1280x1024x32 But, when I start free flight for example, the main monitor comes up with a much lower resolution. I tried several times, but I can’t get my main screen running at 1920x1200. I have both FSX service packs installed and use Direct X 9.0c. The curious thing is, when I press ALT + Enter to enter windowed modus, the resolution is fine. Graphics looks brilliant. But that’s only a workaround, as I can’t use other windows (outside view for example in parallel). My machine is an I4790 with Nvidia GTX970. Both screens are connected via DVI. I would really appreciate some help to get this problem fixed.

I'm currently running on Windows 10 Home Edition 64bits, My PC is running thanks to an beatiful Intel Core i7 5820k @ 4.2ghz and 16GB DDR4 2666MHZ, and I run the OS on a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD and the Flight Simulator X Steam Edition on a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD, My video card is a EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Ti 384 bits 6GB GDDR5 ACX 2.0 SC, my all drivers are up to date! Here is the main problem I have listed from just putting 1 tweak to like every know tweak in the fsx community and I get low frames I can even get pass 10 - 28fps using the A2A Cessna 172 at Mallorca X Evolution and just 40fps with the Ultralight at Friday Harbor. Ok Yes I run with 4096 REX 4/Soft Clouds textures but supposely my pc is capable for that and more and other people run it with worse specs and better specs with the same sliders and Texture max load! I had downloaded others people cfg, make a clean cfg, tweaked with ******* Venetubo tool, tweaked manually, just put Affinity mask, bufferpools alone etc.. then together and like that and still no perfomance! Same fps on DX9 and DX10, and no gain on fps. For those thinking ins't the PC as I run normally any stress test, 3DS MAX 2016, Battlefield 4, SMITE, LoL, Unreal Engine 4, even Witcher 3 and Phantom Pain ultra 60fps @ 1080p! and with flight sim I just can't stop experiencing low fps, lag spikes, stutteres, slow loading texture, OOM, CTD when Switching full screen to windowed and vice versa. I'm really deseperate as I had been saving a lot for this PC to use it for Flight Sim purpose to give me this result and I know is capable running at least 40fps with almost everything maxed on the most demading scenarios, aircraft and settings without any problem. Is the 3rd time I reinstall FSX: SE (Clean unistallation and reinstalls!) which is a pain reinstalling the add-ons again! I just hope the community can help me fixing this issue, thanks you! P.S: Nvidia Inspector are basically Matt Davies one with 1/2 Refresh Rate

All LINDA users are advised that no compatibility testing with Windows 10 has been carried out with the new Windows 10 release with any of the compatible flight simulators (FSX, FSX-SE or P3D). I have no intention to change my working or development systems until the new operating systems is proven to operate flawlessly with my setup and development tools. However, if LINDA users have or plan to cross to the dark side, please report your experience and success/failures here. There is nothing I will be able to assist but it will help others.

Dear all, Does anyone uses the external FPS limiter for the Radeon graphics card on the Windows 10 operating system? If so could you please share your experience with the rest of the community about setting it up in Windows 10 and a like. The reason I'm asking this is that before Windows 10 I could use the software Radeon_external_FPS_limiter (found it on Boyote tweaking site), but since Windows 10 the mentioned software doesn't work. Also is there some other similar software that could work on Windows 10? Thank you all in advance for the helpful tips and suggestions. Safe simming Marko

Greetings, I was wondering if someone has experienced the same issue with Windows 10 running FS2004. So this is what happens after installing Windows 10 I went and installed my copy of FS2004 and then installed the 9.1 update after rebooting. Initial tests made it look like FS2004 would run fine under Windows 10, however these were flights done in the default Cessna 172. As soon as I picked the default Boeing 737, I found that the simulator would crash to desktop when loading the created flight. Furthermore these crashes occur in all default Boeing airplanes in FS2004 with Windows 10. I went and checked the Windows 10 event log and found out that the cause of all the crashes have been caused by the Panel.dll file. I was wondering if these crashes were being experienced by others who are running Windows 10 in the latest 10049 built. Thanks for any information on the matter!

This thread is not dead. I’m here! You can play Flight Unlimited 3 with amazing quality on Windows 10. With all the updates below your airports will be populated, and Air Traffic Control will be realistic. Try to put your jet at 6 miles off the airport in the right direction to an approach or land your biplane without tumbling your nose to the ground. All that is needed to install and run the game on windows 10: If you download Flight Unlimited 3 from this link https://www.old-games.com/ the game will work flawlessly with no bugs on windows 10. There is a serious bug with ISO files found on internet (it’s the original version probably). Radio channels get stuck or blocked with an horrible noise on many voices. The software downloaded from Old-Games.com, apparently a "Sold Out" modified version, doesn’t present the radio issue. The radio works perfectly with rogue or bass voices! Installation tricks: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Flight_Unlimited_III Install on windows 10 applying “two layers”: Install ddfix 1.5.13 https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143020 with the help of HxD Hex Editor, change ddraw.dll by ddfix.dll. Follow instructions. This improves DirectX working. Install dgVoodoo2 2.7 from this link http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html This enables the game to play on Windows 10. Dgvoodoo works with ReShade 4.7 https://nearfile.com/games/reshade/ to improve dramatically graphic quality. (Settings for example: prod80_03_FilmicTonemap | Pirate_Bloom | Pirate_Curve | Pirate_Vibrance | Vibrance_fx | Pirate_LumaSharpen). In this link https://library.avsim.net/index.php?CatID=lgfu3&Sort=Author&ScanMode=1&Page=1 you have Ansgar Avermeyer AI Package, and a few more planes to install directly, as one Boing 747. Christopher Low has uploaded Seattle 2006 and SanFran 2006 to his MediaFire account. You can download them using the links below: Seattle 2006 http://www.mediafire...j59kocbuja241tn SanFran 2006 http://www.mediafire...mdoiqam8o6127y7 Manual is here: http://alfozavr.wdfiles.com/local--files/fu3-downloads/FU3_Manual.pdf One more link, (search for "Looking Glass: Flight Unlimited III") https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=displaysearch In FU3 there is no AntiAliasing (AA) "out of the box" for jagged lines. The turnaround is to apply AA setting in DGVOODOO2. Sadly, this ends up in another issue: white lines appear in most plane cockpits. You can remove this white line downloading CockpitDesigner from the link before. Edit blue rectangle. Increase one pixel the biggest number on X or Y axis. https://gpdev.net/Downloads.html Play it in 1024 x 768, with 3D acceleration driver activated.

Does anyone have the above combo working? I tried moving to W10 over the weekend, and ended up with a totally clean install on my HDD. However, I used DSR in W7 (x4.0) and wanted to use it in W10 as well but it doesn't seem to work - the mouse cursor enlarges but that's about it. I have tried restarting P3D and going between full screen and windowed but to no avail. Any suggestions before I pull the plug on the great W10 experiment and go back to W7?

Just updated to Windows 10. Flying PMDG 737 NGX & PMDG 777-200. (Operations Center states "Updated". NVIDIA files ran auto update w/the Win 10 install.) After unchecking the "Run in Compatibility Mode Button", and checking the Anti-Aliasing button, everything worked, except when I undock my gauges (Radios, MCP, CDU). They "pop-up" fine, but when I right-click to undock they become transparent. I cancel the undock and they return to normal. My System: FSX-Steam, Win 10, ASUS CM Series 16.0 GB Mem, 64 Bit OS, Intel i7 CPU @3.40 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GT630

Obviously Windows 10 is still under development, but does anybody know if LM development plans include Windows 10? They skipped 8 and 8.1 not surprising IMO, but 10 does look promising. Thanks!

I keep getting a message that says MSFSX can not run during a Remote Desktop session. I do not use remote desktop sessions! How do I eliminate this problem from my FSX Gold edition with Acceleration on a Windows 10 set up???

4I have now installed FS 2004 7 times from my disks but still cannot get it to function correctly. The loading procedure was FS 9 into C:\OS, 9.1 update, file not mentioned. When I click on the icon I am always asked to say yes to to Administrator start. That's ok. However, everything loads correctly, with sound etc. I leave the flight on the Cessna 172 and open the throttle and the aircraft starts to move. BUT if I touch the "S" key to change view the top of the screen changes but the panel remains. This happens on every aircraft. Can anybody help? I have deleted every non-FS9 aircraft to ensure no pollution from that source. However, with hidden files viewable I cannot trace the FS9.cfg file.

I'm a newby to flight simulation in general. I've procured a new pc with Windows 10 OS. I'm having several issues with XP10, as follows: I cannot save a new logbook and X-plane has not created the "X-Plane Pilot.txt" file the instructions mention. Secondly, I've downloaded some custom scenery for a few local airports but there does not seem to be any additional scenery generated. Finally, I have not been able to file a flight plan when attempting to use ATC. I've read elsewhere (don't recall if it was on AVSIM or not) that there are some rumored issues with Windows 10 compatibility. Can anyone confirm or debunk that rumor, and does anyone have suggestions for me. Thanks in advance.

I am thinking of upgrading from Windows 8.1 to 10. Before I do, I wanted to know if anyone was running 10 with FSX and if there are any problems. I am running FSX with Acceleration (not steam edition). Please post your experience with Windows 10 and FSX, thanks.

I've upgraded my windows to Windows 10 Professional, and now my PMDG NGX is wanting an activation code. If i dont give it a code it likes, it tells me that I dont have a valid licence for my NGX. This concerns me greatly because I am scrupulous about only using valid software. Anyway, I figured it wanted the licence keys originally given to me when I bought the aircraft. But it says they're not valid. What do i do now? I have the PMDG NGX 8700 base package, the PMDG NGX 600 add-on, the two 777s, and the 4100 turboprop. I havent tried a 777 or a 4100 but I'm assuming that whatever's broken the first validation has also broken the second. Any one have any ideas what I do now? Cheers Mike Kear Windsor, NSW, Australia.

hello there! i just got fs2crew yesterday, and i love what it can do so far with the button control. the issue im having is that neither windows nor fs2crew is catching any sound from my mic. however, my mic does work. i know this because i fly on vatsim and talk on teamspeak 3 very often with this mic. i use a $5 dollar headset from the Target dollar section that has a little microphone thing on the wire, and i believe it is operated by realtec. It does not have a usb, it connects to the computer via 3.5mm jack. all help will be appreciated and happy flying to all in this new year!

I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 but although all else works FS9 has a problem. Using disk 4 I can get nothing but by inserting the no cd file the programme loads to the central splash screen as normal and then the usual wait for the Settings/Flight panel. However, all I get is a black screen with a very much enlarged blue "wait" circle and eventually a totally black screen with a much enlarged white cursor arrow. To exit I have to type Ctrl-Alt-Del which gives me the various exit options BUT whichever one I select I get an instantaneous flash of the Settings/Flight panel in very large format. It is possible that somewhere the screen dimension settings are corrupted with windows 10 but how can I change them when I cannot get to the panel to make the changes? Can anybody help? Especially someone who has switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Thank in advance for your help.

Hello Pilots & Carenado Experts! I own amongst to other aircrafts, the fabulous Carenado F406 Caravan II. It is a very fine aircraft and my favorite plane. Furthermore, I bought the Flight1 GTN 750 and have it successful integrated (F1GTN750F406II.exe) into the F406. Everything is working fine, SimStarter NG, ASN, the F406 including the GTN 750 and all my fantastic sceneries and tools but ... ... the included Weather Radar of the F406 does not work! I can press every button, turn the controller, especially to the ON Position, but the display remains blank. The device is definitely without function! There is nothing that I have changed to the plane, except the GTN 750 integration. By the way, I only fly with my Oculus Rift DK2, so I use only the VC and no 2D gauges! Now to my Questions: 1. Is there really a full weather Radar integrated or is it only compatible and I have to/must buy this WR tool? 2. Is there someone else with this problem? 3. Is there a solution to get the device run? I use for example the following Addons/Specs: Windows 10 Pro 64Bit AMD FX8370 MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GD5T OC (newest driver) 16 GByte RAM FSX Steam Edition (everything on a 500GB SSD) Carenado F406 Caravan II Active Sky Next (via Steam) Flight1 GTN 750 SimStarterNG FlyInside (for my Oculus Rift DK2) ..and much more I dont use DirectX 10, only DirectX9 settings (because the Rift DK2). I have a zipped File with some INI´s and CFG´s but I dont know, how I could upload it inside this thread? I hope someone can/would help me! Best wishes from EDHK, Marco P.S.: Sorry for my bad english but school is over since a lot of years!

Reported on the BBC News website today, form an orderly queue all you Windows 10 sufferers: Payout of $10,000 for Windows 10 updateMicrosoft has agreed to pay a Californian woman $10,000 (£7,500) after an automatic Windows 10 update left her computer unusable. Teri Goldstein said her Windows 7 computer had automatically tried to update itself to Windows 10 without her permission. She said the update had made her machine unstable, leaving her unable to use it to run her business. Microsoft said it had dropped its appeal to save on legal costs. Microsoft has been aggressively pushing the latest version of its widely used operating system, which is currently available as a free download for computers running Windows 7 and 8. However, many people have chosen not to upgrade, because they are running old hardware, have software that does not run on Windows 10, are concerned over the software's tracking features, or simply do not want it. In February, the company bundled Windows 10 in with its security updates and made it a "recommended update", which meant it was automatically downloaded and installed unless blocked by the user. Some people accused the company of trying to "trick" customers into installing the update. The Seattle Times reported that Ms Goldstein's computer had "slowed to a crawl" after the update, and Microsoft customer support had not fixed the problem. "I had never heard of Windows 10. Nobody ever asked me if I wanted to update," she told the newspaper.

I have switched to Windows 10 but FS9 will only part load. When I click on the icon I get a message to ask if I want the following programme to make changes to my computer and the file in question is FS9.exe. If I say "yes" the splash screen appears and after a while the screen goes black with an enlarged waiting circle. This is followed shortly by an enlarged white cursor arrow. The screen is effectively frozen but on using Ctrl-Alt-Del I get a very brief flash of the Create Flight/Select Flight screen but in very large font and then back to the cursor arrow. If I say "no" the screen goes black and an icon appears on the bottom task bar but on clicking it I am told FS9 is already running. I have the FS9 update file and am using the non-4 disk route. Can anybody help? A chat with Microsoft said that they do not support FS9 anymore and I can do what I like with it. But what? I have deleted the FS9.cfg file several times before starting and confirm that each time it creates a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having FSX issues ever since I made the switch to Windows 10. Tried deleting my current CFG., no difference. I have the UIautomation core so that crash isn't the issue. Can't seem to figure out this problem but defiantly the fault of Windows 10. Really frustrating can't access FSrecorder due to this. It has no loading status bar and I cannot use the tool bar on circumstances without a black screen. Could really use some help.
