  1. Going through all the .dgml files and changing <discrete> false </discrete> to true for the problem maps has fixed it. Thanks for the hint.
  2. The version I had on my old PC was 2.6.4.beta. Just downloaded it this morning and the maps work correctly. I do not care much about the Google maps, I understand there are compatibility issues and it's not worth the time. I hardly ever use them anyways. Just curious why the scrollwheel doesn't align with the map controls like it does in the older versions. Maybe there is a new setting somewhere that messes with the map zoom?
  3. When using non-default maps, i.e. Google or VFR Sectionals, zooming with the scrollwheel makes the map blurry. If I zoom using the arrows displayed on the map, then it works fine, but for some reason those zoom increments are not matching what the scrollwheel does. This is also a problem when using an offline map that I made myself. In older versions, up until this year or so, all of these map themes used to work fine. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
  4. Ha, makes sense now. With every new plane there's always new acronyms...
  5. I think I see what you're saying. I told you I got lost in this thing! "The FMS computes a Vertical Pitch Command that is recognized when VNAV is selected on the FGS Mode Select Panel." That's the line that threw me off I suppose.
  6. I took the bite on the CJ1+ for FSX. I must say I'm pretty pleased with it thus far. The price is somewhat steep for the depth of the simulation, but with the promise of continuous updates (especially FADEC!) I'm willing to pay it. The VC isn't perfect, but the level of detail is appropriate for my uses. I'm getting strange performance problems with it though; after a few minutes my FPS drop to about 9. I'm assuming this is a bug or something, because I get 40+ in more detailed products like the feelThere ERJ v2. The displays are crisp, and when my computer isn't freaking out they're very smooth. One thing that bugs me is that I haven't figured out yet how to keep the MFD from displaying every dang airport in the area, it's very cluttered. The FMS is somewhat difficult to navigate at first, but I'm getting used to it. The FMS offers VNAV calculations, but there's not actually a VNAV mode on the FGS (I hope that becomes a future update as well). The performance and flight dynamics seem accurate, although I guess I wouldn't really know, not being a CJ pilot. It's very easy to handfly, climbs quickly, cruises easily at 1000lbs/hr or less, and smooth landings are a piece of cake! In comparison to the CJ1 (v1), I find its got a lot more power and slightly higher fuel flows. Otherwise, its pretty much the same plane (besides the panel). I must say though, honestly I'm happiest with the exterior model. Like every Eaglesoft product, it's impeccable and just beautiful to look at! I guess in conclusion, if you're a Citation fan or enjoy a good balance between high speed and short runways, this is a great aircraft! When the FADEC comes along and I can figure out why I'm getting terrible framerates, it'll be hard to tear myself away from it!
  7. I'm not sure why that wasn't the first thing I did, but it solved the problem! Thanks, jahman!
  8. I was just curious what performance gains it might bring like it did on my old computer. Unfortunately it made performance waaay worse, yet only in the VC. If I was using the VC, all the ground textures would turn black, one tile at a time. Going to spot view showed that they were still showing up, just not from the VC. That's why I went back to SP1.
  9. I re-installed FSX about a week ago or so along with SP1 and have run into an interesting problem. Pictures are worth a thousand words and honestly I'm not sure how to explain this anyhow, so here's this: As you can see, the water and nearby coastline seems to be exempt from the visibility. This occurs everywhere. I'm using UTX, GEX, and REX. Disabling any of these or restoring the defaults does nothing. I tried SP2 for a couple days and it fixed this problem but caused far more severe issues, so I got rid of that. Disabling/enabling the haze layer in Active Sky does nothing either, nor does trying REX weather. Curiously, the only fix I've come across is going down to 1x water, which completely alleviates the problem. Of course, 1x water also looks terrible and my computer should be much more than capable of handling 2 shaders. My specs are:i5 650 (3.2Ghz)8GB RAMeVGA 260 (768MB)Windows 7 home premium 64 Anyone have any ideas what could be going on here? Is there a different landclass associated with 1x water versus 2x water or something?
  10. Yeah, I imagine it is much more possible in FSX. Sadly, my poor old Macbook can only handle FS9 with good addons.
  11. I figured as much. So I suppose the only way is to paint the gleam on top. I'll give that a shot and see if I can't do anything with it. Adding a noise filter to the alpha might not be a bad idea either, I'm just concerned that it will just look pixelated since the alpha bmps are so small..Thanks guys!
  12. I'm stumped when it comes to getting a metallic gleam on my paintjobs. Not bare metal, but metallic paint, like you would have on a car. I've been trying to study pictures and look for the gradients, but the reflection is always different depending on the viewpoint. Even with alpha I haven't been able to achieve the look that I want. Anyone have some tips on how to do this? Thanks,Carl
  13. Must be the wrong Alex. Sent him a PM, says he never made an Excel, just an X and a 500.
  14. Hi all,I'm looking for a paintkit for the Aryus Citation XLS. It seems after some conflict with Eaglesoft that he simply disappeared...<_<I've searched EVERYWHERE. Does anyone still have it or know where it's located? Thanks,Carl
