AIG Manager and "United Traffic Team"

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this has been brought up, and general searches just bring up so much extra 'fluff' nowhere related to the topic.

But after all this time, AIG still points many of the manual files to the site unitedtrafficteam.com. It's now and has been for a while, just a false search engine, one of those 'this domain is for sale' sites, most likely used by 'less than ethical' folks to trick you into visiting similar sites.

I have found one thread on the net from a supposed admin that they were trying to get permission to put files on said site. But nothing further. I've tried numerous times to register on the AIG forum but only get as far as the message that an admin has to approve the request. There are no ways to contact anyone. All 'personal' sections of the site are default 'Lorem Ipsum' pages.

I've tried manual searches for the packages but have come up dry. Right now, I have a consistent error that about 12 repaints cannot be installed. Not a 'huge' deal, but a bit annoying and, in my opinion, a simple fix, especially after a few years.

Can anyone else shed some light on the issue? Do they just not care? Other than that, the AIG software and AI Traffic are great! Really immersive.

I feel that people these days just don't care about the details anymore. Unfortunately, the 'little' details pile up until they become a mountain, and then in the end, everyone gives up.

They don't care?? Do you have ANY idea on how much work gets put into each livery let alone the flight planning, programming, the costs of hosting the many gigabytes of data etc? All done on their own time and $ for everyone to use for FREE.
It's that the files are hosted on a site that they have ZERO access to and that they don't have permission to host the files elsewhere. It's pretty simple. Mole hill more than anything.

Of course, that was a rhetorical question! I do realize the amount of effort that goes on behind the scenes. But for this apparently "minor" issue to persist for so long without any feedback is pretty perplexing.

As I said, other than that one issue, the application and the resulting AI in world is pretty great!.

I'm just trying to find out why the links to the United Traffic Team still exist. Why haven't they just been removed, or better yet, moved here? The fact that I've only found one mention on the 'net so far just seems like the issue was brushed off. The lack of contact information on the site sort of rubs me the wrong way. It's a pattern these days with most sites, and more often than not with the really big sites, there are no emails, phone numbers, or if something is provided, it's either a round-robin set of links to a FAQ or a scripted "AI" bot. I guess I'm just getting crankier in my old age.
